Apparently, Brian Johnson knows people who smoke weed. I imagine you're totally shocked at this revelation but, in fact, these FOB's like weed so much that they decided to make a movie about it called "Totally Baked: A Pot-U-Mentary."
Though Totally Baked is meant to be 'a comedy about getting fired up,' the makers of the movie are actually serious about cleaning up marijuana's seedy reputation. In fact, they're even donating 10% of the film's proceeds to NORML (The National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws) if you buy the movie online through their website.
The great thing about this for AC/DC fans is that Brian recorded three songs for the movie soundtrack (Chain Gang, Shake That Tail, and Who Phoned The Law) which he's decided to give away to everybody for free! You only have a limited time to download them, however, so get cracking and go here immediately!
Of course what would free MP3's be if you didn't have fantastic looking covers for them, eh?
Never fear AC/DC fans! Thanks to our good friend, St. Rik, you can also have the pleasure of the coolest cover pics around for a couple of these new ditties. Click the links to go the full size pics!

Aren't these awesome? Perhaps Rik will do more covers if he gets some good comments from you artistic types out there? Leave him a comment below if you like his work...

Latest Interviews of AC/DC's Brian Johnson!
Here's the interview where Brian confirms that AC/DC has finished recording in Vancouver. Most of the interview is about "Totally Baked," the new stoner comedy that Brian recorded three songs for that were played live on the Classic Rock Cares tour.
Thanks to Mats for sending me the video link!
Speaking of interviews, Brian also did a radio interview with Seattle's Bob Rivers the other day which, was much more interesting than what passes for conversation on DC101. You can listen/download an MP3 of that podcast here. Please note that Brian's interview starts about 3/4 of the way through the track...
However, if you want to listen to a more polished version of the Bob Rivers interview without having to fast forward through the MP3, you should be able to easily locate it on this page.

AC/DC Completes Recording Sessions
In a radio interview earlier today on Washington's DC101 rock station, the word from Brian Johnson came down that AC/DC has, in fact, completed their Vancouver recording sessions and the album is now in the mixing stage.
According to Brian, Angus and Malcolm Young have remained in Canada to mix the disc with engineer Mike Fraser and producer Brendan O'Brien. Brian, apparently, has gone back to his home in Sarasota, Florida.
Next, Brian says, the artwork must be done, promotional activities geared up for the new CD, and preparations made for the new tour.

AC/DC Planning Major World Tour

Paul Cashmere of Australia's Undercover News has just revealed that AC/DC will be touring in support of their new album due out later this year.
According to Paul,"Plans for a major world tour are underway to coincide with the release of the album and the tour will been announced shortly."
This is, of course, excellent news for AC/DC fans everywhere as many have been fretting that they would never get to see Angus & Co. live in concert ever again.
I suspect AC/DC will tour their usual haunts including Europe, North America and Australia, but what about all the fans who want to see them again in New Zealand, South America, Japan, and even in South Africa? Not only that, but AC/DC has a growing audience in India and who can forget AC/DC's legendary appearance at Moscow's Tushino International Airport back in 1991 in front of an estimated million fans?
And while they're at it, why shouldn't AC/DC visit China as well? After all, if the Rolling Stones can do it, why shouldn't the world's greatest rock band play there too?
Personally, I'd rather see AC/DC avoid China while they're cracking down on Tibet, but AC/DC has never been a band to let politics stand in their way of where they want to play.
Anyway, the good news is that a tour will happen barring any unforeseen circumstances. Hopefully, it won't be AC/DC's last go round either as that rumor has reared its ugly head recently thanks to Eddie Trunk.

AC/DC Set To Release New Album This Year
Note from Jon:
In other news, Pope Benedict XVI stopped by America the other day to publicly condemn the new AC/DC album even before it's released. Said Ben, "These guys are almost as old as I am and they still haven't learned to fly straight!"

This condemnation by the new, ex-Nazi Pope comes as a huge surprise because, as we all know, the extremely late Pope John Paul II was a huge AC/DC fan.

Supersuckers front man confirms AC/DC producer is Brendan O'Brien

According to a blog post on the Supersuckers web site, front man Eddie Spaghetti has confirmed that the new AC/DC album is being produced by Brendan O'Brien.
To quote Mr. Spaghetti, "I'm sure you're all wondering, "where the hell is that new 'suckers record?", well rest assured it IS coming. It's just taking a little longer than we expected to get done. Our current snag is that the producer of the new record wants to make some last minute tweaks and, well, he can't right now. He's been detained by a little Australian band called, uh, AC/DC. That's right our man Billy Bowers, who did such a stellar job on our "Paid" E.P., is an engineer for Brendan O'Brien who is producing the new AC/DC record and so he's been taken away from our project temporarily. But he assures us that, as soon as he can, he will have the mixes done and that they will rock mightily so we have to just be content with that for now. In the meantime, we will be keeping busy rocking the free world and you can come and get your fix of the new material at one of our many rock shows coming up in the near future at a location near you, I'm sure."
O'Brien has a star-studded recording history under his belt, having worked with such legendary acts as Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Bruce Springsteen, The Georgia Satellites, Neil Young, Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave, Velvet Revolver and even Bob Dylan.
AC/DC is currently thought to be recording at the Warehouse Studios in Vancouver though that hasn't been officially confirmed by the band or their record label.

Fremantle Launches The Bon Scott Project
by Paul Cashmere - April 7 2008
The City of Fremantle is presenting the Bon Scott Project, an event to mark the life and times of their historic rocker Bon Scott.
The Project, which will take place at the Fremantle Arts Centre from May 17-June 29, will features works from 19 artists honoring the late AC/DC singer.
Although Scott died in London and lived in Sydney and Melbourne in his day with AC/DC, he is still remembered as the boy from Fremantle.
Scott was raised in North Fremantle and was laid to rest in the city following his death in 1980.
The Bon Scott Project is designed to bring together the stories about Bon from the fans moreso than traditional media.
As part of the Project, fans can contribute to the Bon Scott Blog at bonscottblog.com.
The Project will also display Bon's private letters. The letters show his bawdy and humorous side but also offer an insight never before seen into the personality of the man.
